Dear Residents,
Delivery Riders,
In response to recent concerns to scooters and e-bikes along Victoria Road, Officers from the local policing team recently carried out a targeted operation involving food delivery riders in the area. The operation focused on checks of immigration status and vehicle compliance, including insurance, MOT, and licensing. Riders were stopped and relevant checks were conducted.
25 vehicles stopped and checked 1 arrested for immigration offences
This activity was carried out in response to local concerns and forms part of ongoing work to ensure public safety and compliance with the law.
Vehicle Crime,
We would also like to make you aware of reports of vehicle crime in the local area, including theft from vehicles and vehicle thefts.
Officers are carrying out additional patrols, reviewing available CCTV, and following up on all lines of enquiry. We are also working with partners to identify those responsible and prevent further offences.
We ask residents to remain vigilant and take simple precautions, such as: If you have been affected by vehicle crime, or have information that may assist our enquiries, please report it via 101 or online. In an emergency, always call 999.
